General comments: Must elect new President for Spring 2009 season, current President has served many terms. Need to bring in some new officiers and some new ideas. If you are a vetran member of the league and not held office or volunteered for a position, you are a great candidate.

Players must have played a minimum of three matches, 2 nights minimum to be eligible for the tournament.

 

Fall 2009 Tournament weekends will be October 24 and October 31.

Memos will be sent out by the tournament directors after they have agreed to which dates which league will operate.

 

Treasurer Report (5:55 PM):

Current account balance is roughly $7,000.00

Ball expenses average $400.00 per season

T-shirts average $600.00 per season

Sand average $3,000.00 per year

 

 

Rules:

No official USAV rules changes since Spring 2009.

 

However reminder for Fall season daylight will become a concern, the situations with 2 courts, 3 courts… all the teams must arrange to try to schedule their target final match points to coinside with the pace the other nets are progressing.

 

Concerns regarding players wearing shoes and making contact/ causing injury during net action. Please discuss between captains, discuss concerns about opposing players wearing shoes and sensitivity during net contact. Please be courteous and considerate when engaging in net play, if contact is made between opposing players, interfering with play, replay the point.

 

Play is legal between the poles, as there are no atennas. If the ball contacts the pole it is out of bounds.

Facilities:

No sand has been purchased in 2009, will be due in Spring 2010.

 

Discussion regarding supplying net barriers at Citysearch to try to limit some of the balls rolling down the hill. Will be discussed with the Citysearch staff.

 

Currently have 3 additional nets in storage.

Will purchase doubles courts lines.

No workday currently planned to be scheduled for Fall 2009.

 

Balls:

Will plan to replace 5% of balls per season.

Currently have 5 balls available, will purchase additionals.
