TreasurerŐs Report:
2010 has seen an overage in league funds. As a result money has been used to purchase
additional equipment to upgrade our facilities. We have purchased new nets, new lines, court
numbers, weather resistant boxes to keep copies of schedules at the courts, new hose at
RTF, additional balls, Paypal services to accept payments, med kits at each site. Investigating
upgrades to the website and the addition of lights at RTF courts. Further suggestions to Christa and Justin are encouraged.
Calendar:
Final day of registration is Thursday, August 5th. The league work day is Saturday, August 7th. Play begins the week of August 8th. The last week of regular season games is October 10th.
[Post meeting note: Wednesday and Thursday leagues are now full.]
Facilities note:
The league work day is August 7th, at 9:00am. One member of each team must be at RTF at 9:00am. We will be replacing all the nets at RTF, the net at Nortel #2, and both lines at Citysearch. The raking of sand at each location may be necessary, as well as raising the height of the nets at Nortel and Citysearch.
Please bring ladders, gloves, hammers, screwdrivers, pliers, adjustable wrenches, rakes, shovels, and whatever else you think we might need.
The site coordinators are as follows:
á RTF: Mark Woodward
á Citysearch: Craig Mefford

Rules:
We are instituting the 2010 USAV net rule this season. http://usavolleyball.org/resources/officials-rules/domestic-competition-regulations
The rule which now indicates a net fault is as follows:
11.4.4 - A player interferes with the opponentŐs play by (amongst others):
- touching the top band of the net or the top 80 cm (2Ő 7.49Ó) of the antenna during his/her action of playing the ball, or
- taking support from the net simultaneously with playing the ball, or
- creating an advantage over the opponent, or
- making actions which hinder an opponentŐs legitimate attempt to play the ball.
Rule Reminder: Single service attempt per point! You can not drop a service toss and reserve. Once a motion has been made/ service toss attempt the ball must be contacted. Ball is not allowed to drop. A re-service opportunity is NOT awarded. The point is surrendered and position is given to the opposing team.
